First announced in Economic Action Plan 2012, the Community Infrastructure Improvement Fund (CIIF) is a national program that will provide $150 million over two years across the country. Delivered by regional development agencies the Fund will support, on a cost-shared basis, repairs and improvements to existing community infrastructure that is accessible to the public.

The Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) will deliver the Fund in Nunavut, the Northwest Territories, and Yukon with an allocation of $6.4 million over two years. All projects are required to begin and end construction prior to March 31, 2014.

CanNor will be working with its partners and stakeholders to identify projects that meet eligibility requirements including their potential to create economic benefits for northern communities.

For more information on the program, or if you would like to learn more about eligibility criteria, types of projects or infrastructure to be given priority, or on submitting an application, please contact one of CanNor's regional offices.
