"Our Government remains focused on jobs and economic growth while reducing the deficit and returning to balance in the medium term," said Minister Aglukkaq. "Today, I want to hear from Northerners on how we can achieve a sustainable and prosperous economy and preserve our Canadian economic advantage now and in the future."

Cross-country consultations with members of the government will continue across the country, with venues and details to be announced as they become available.

In order to ensure that all Canadians can participate in this process, the Harper Government has also launched online pre-Budget consultations  .
