Aboriginal Economic Development

Aboriginal Economic Development refers to a suite of national contribution programs.

• The Aboriginal Business Development Program (ABDP), provides business development support to Aboriginal entrepreneurs and organizations.
• The Community Economic Development Program (CEDP), provides core operational support for First Nation and Inuit communities for economic development.
• The Community Support Services Program (CSSP) , supports First Nation and Inuit community economic development organizations to increase their organizational and operational capacity.
• The Community Economic Opportunities Program (CEOP), provides project-based support to First Nation and Inuit communities for community economic development.

These programs are delivered by the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency (CanNor) in Canada’s three territories. CanNor will work closely with Aboriginal governments and organizations to understand and respond to the economic development needs of Aboriginal groups in accordance with the new Aboriginal Economic Development Framework  .
