Laughing Lichen

Entrepreneur Amy Maund out foraging near Yellowknife, NT

Laughing Lichen's owner Amy Maund proudly owns and operates a northern-based wildcrafting business, located just outside of Yellowknife.

Her company turns locally harvested herbs and fungi into natural teas, spices, dried mushrooms, soaps, and other bath products, which are sold in retail stores across Canada, on-line and through wholesale sales to 50 vendors and several international distributors.

With the support of CanNor funding, Laughing Lichen will have a new commercial kitchen installation and a herb drying facility. The new makerspace will support product development and provide space to offer training workshops. The addition of a new drying facility means Laughing Lichen can dry larger seasonal harvests, which creates more opportunities for locally contracted harvesters, who supply herbs and fungi from around the NWT.
