Initially, CanNor will focus on delivering existing programs transferred from INAC. These programs are:

• Strategic Investments in Northern Economic Development (SINED)
• Aboriginal Economic Development
• Economic Development Initiative
• Secretariat to territorial Federal Councils
• Community Adjustment Fund (CAF)
• Infrastructure programs including Recreational Infrastructure Canada (RInC)

New programming includes:

• Northern Projects Management Office (NPMO)
• Skills development (in collaboration with HRSDC)
